(MFI / 08/11/11) According to the president of the Center for Security Strategies of the Sahel-Sahara Centre (4 S) Ahmedou Ould-Abdallah, the cooperation of Sahel-Saharan States (CEN-SAD) in the fight against terrorism must be frank and sincere.

The UN Security Council has discussed the overall situation in West Africa, including the Sahara Sahel region, late July. The threats to security and the linkages between the criminal economy and armed violence in the region, including terrorism, were noted.
